BECAUSE HEATHER KLEIN TOLD ME TO

Ground Rules: The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 weird habits of yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a Xanga entry about their 5 weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says, "You are tagged" in their Xanga and tell them to read yours.

Hmm...  I am weird.  This I know.  But what exactly is weird about me?

1. I have an obsession with names.  Writing names, inventing names, making lists of non-existent families. (This could be borderline psychotic.)

2. I feel guilty about going to sleep.  My head is constantly making an ever growing and never ending "to do" list.  I have got myself down to sleeping about 4 hours a night and still feeling pretty decent.

3. I love the feeling of picking the skin behind my fingernails with buscards.  Really I just love picking, but nothing gives me the satisfaction that buscards do.

4. I put lipstick on every morning and then compulsively wipe it off as I am running down the stairs.

5. I pick 2 or 3 songs that I am currently into and listen to them over and over and over again until I get sick of them and only then do I listen to anything else. (Meaning I discovered a few new songs to obsess over.)

I am going to tag: Elisabeth, Elise, Rachel, Connie & David.

(only because i love to rant)

There is a big plastic hokey nativity scene downtown.  By this scene is a sign declaring some private (assumingly Christian) investor's desire to "keep the Christ in Christmas."

Because having a huge obscenely ugly plastic non-realistic manger scene with a whitish pink Jesus and a Mary who looks way to serene to have just given birth is just what I needed to remember that "Jesus is the reason for the season."

While standing by this deal I heard two seperate comments:

1. "Oh g*d.  At least they had the decency to say it was privately funded"
2. "Don't you think Jesus is awfully white?  He should be brown."

So the thought was nice guys, but it's kind of like opening a great big huge nicely wrapped box only to find a vaccum cleaner or pan in it.  (This has happened to me.)

Why not take all of that bunch of money and do something real with it.  Like spend some time with people who need to know Christ is Christmas?  I guess the thing that pisses me off the most about a lot of Christians is their willingness to smile encouragingly and sometimes dip into their pocketbooks from afar.

Next time you're sporting your hot pink WWJD bracelet (if they're still trendy enough for you) why don't you actually think about what the acronym means and put it into practice.  If all Believers (including myself at many many times) actually did this I wonder what our country and world would be like.

...Random Throughts While At Jury Duty...

...lunch...
I've never gone out to eat alone before.  It always makes me feel like I'm a fat pig.  But here I sit at the Corner Bakery (which isn't even on a corner, by the way) eating $9.00 food that tastes mediocre at best.  I am surrounded by professionals both young and old.  I am the lone jean-wearer in here.  I am cold.  It is weird how nice cops are when you are at jury duty or are eating at the Corner Bakery on West Washington.

...after lunch...
About 5 minutes ago I was down on the street looking up at the biggest Christmas tree that I have ever seen in real life.  I am now on the 15th floor looking down at an extremely tiny tree, and even tinier people and the tiniest of pigeons.

...on the bus home...
It is cold cold cold.  I just waited for the stupid 145 bus for about 30 minutes for some strange reason.  I kind of like riding down Michigan Avenue looking at the rich people doing all of their strange rich things.  (Like clean the seat with a napkin before they sit on it.)  There is a lady wearing a lime green coat with gold quilting over parts of it.  It says Louis Vuitton on it though.  Would she ever in a million years wear something so monstrously hideous if it didn't have the name of some random French guy who decided to make ugly things and sell them for thousands of dollars name on it?  Doubtful.

By the way we sat in the courtroom for about 4 hours before the judge decided to tell us that they decided to settle out of court.  Its a good thing I love wasting hours of my life sitting in cold rooms with people I don't know.

It's my birthday in exactly one month.  Don't forget.

We're going to be moving sometime within the next couple of months.  (For some reason I just typed mother's.)

Anyways we don't know where we'll be going to.  I can't really dispel why we are leaving on here, but if anyones dying to know just email me.

If anyone wants 2 exciting nice roommates just let me know!  (Truly)

Other than the aforementioned craziness it has been good to have 5 days off from work.  It snowed and was beautiful the other night.  And today it is warm and rainy.  Weird...
